Everything you do in the app is stored locally and never sent anywhere: the dialect you chose, the words you starred, which words you have seen, your test scores, and your settings. There is no account and no cloud sync, so there is nowhere for it to go. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
The word pictures, the word list and the dialect data are downloaded over
HTTPS from dilangpinoy.tallact.tech. Those are ordinary web
requests: the server sees the request and the IP address it came from, as any
web server does, and nothing in them identifies you or is tied to anything you
did in the app.
The app is free and is paid for by ads. Every ad in it is one of ours,
promoting another app we make. There is no advertising network in this version
and no third party receives anything. Our own ad server
(offlineads.tallact.tech) receives this much:
| What it receives | Why |
|---|---|
| A random number generated on your device the first time the app runs, stored with the app's files | To count how many devices saw an ad rather than how many times it was shown, and to avoid showing you the same one repeatedly. It is made up of random digits, is not derived from anything about you or your device, and is not shared with anyone. Deleting the app deletes it. |
| Which of our own apps an ad was shown for or tapped, and whether your device was offline at the time | To know which of our apps to advertise, and to tell a real tap from an ad that was only displayed. |
Nothing you do in the app — the words you look at, star or get wrong — is used to choose which ad you see, and none of it is sent to the ad server. Your device's advertising ID is not read or used, on either platform.
If we ever add an outside ad network, this page will say so before that version ships, and the choices that come with it will be described here.
Dilang Pinoy is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, contact us and we will delete it — though as described above, the app collects nothing that would identify a child in the first place.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes rather than only here.
